Geoinformatics Laboratory  was established in the year 2001 thanks to the funds of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, which become the sources for starting the Laboratory's activities. The site of the Laboratory was moved to the University's premises in Most, where all the laboratory's research activities take place.

The interest of the Laboratory lies mainly in the problematics of using the geoinformatic technologies, especially the geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing (RS) in various types of environmental studies and in archeology. Since 2001 we provide the complete services (geodesy, cartography, GIS, RS, GPS) for Czech archeological survey in Egypt.
